e-Portfolio as a teaching tool

The e-portfolio is an innovative learning and communication tool, also in teaching it helps us to assess student learning. The e-portfolio reveals the student's learning process, through reflection and self-study, it is a compilation of evidence. Collaborates in the measurement of aspects of learning that cannot be measured through traditional or written tests or assessments. E-portfolio evidence helps display school work using media that go beyond what can be displayed on a sheet of paper, also called artifacts.

The e-portfolio allows the student to be his spokesperson, being himself the researcher, the arguer, and the writer of his learning. As described by the COVA learning approach, the e-portfolio allows the student to choose what they want to learn, take ownership of when and how they learn, generate independence and self-sufficiency, and express and use their great voice to reflect using authentic opportunities for learning.

Thanks to the opportunity that the E-portfolio gives as a learning tool, today, as a reader, you are reading a sample of what self-directed learning is and how an e-portfolio (like this one) reflects the evidence of what has been learned and investigated, that as mentioned by Dr. Barrett “ Portfolios can relate to specific academic fields or your lifelong learning. Evidence may include writing samples, photos, videos, research projects, observations by mentors and peers, and/or reflective thinking"
