As human beings, we thrive on social connections to enhance our skills and apply our learned knowledge. Please think of us as a jar of cookies; filling it up and consuming it alone without sharing it with others is pointless.
I am grateful for my learning network at school and my work team at PRE-k. They have acted as my mentors, particularly those with more experience. I have been guided by their knowledge and experiences to enhance my teaching model. I have also shared my experiences and technological skills with the team to improve technology in their classes.
One of my preferred digital resources is Edutopia. I came across it while reading "Blended" By Michael B. and was delighted by the vast array of educational content it offers. Edutopia is a reliable source that showcases successful practices in education. It shares stories of innovation and ongoing learning in real-world situations, providing valuable insights for educators and learners.
Learning about Mindset has been one of my favorite courses and subjects. It has helped me to shift my perspective from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset, enabling me to embrace challenges as opportunities for joyful learning. The Growth Mindset book has inspired me greatly, and I have been actively seeking resources for myself, my students, and even my family on this subject.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Applied Digital Learning degree at Lamar University, which has been instrumental in enhancing my teaching skills and pedagogical knowledge. Since my studies, I have noticed a significant improvement in my Mindset and passion for education. I am determined to continue growing as a teacher and positively impact my students' lives. I owe my success to my supportive colleagues and classmates, who have contributed immensely to our group's progress. My contributions to this course have been valuable.
I stumbled upon Dr. Catlin Tucker's webpage in my quest for digital and blended learning knowledge. Her vast expertise and extensive research in the field of education have been proven to be highly effective. I am impressed by the depth and breadth of her knowledge and the impact she has made in improving the quality of education.
Before Dr. Harapunk shared a TED talk about Mindset, I was unfamiliar with TED. However, I have come to enjoy the talks and discussions offered on the site, and now make a point of visiting at least once a week to explore new topics and enrich my learning and teaching methods. TED is a non-profit organization with impactful talks on Technology, Entertainment, and Design, covering diverse topics such as science, business, and global issues.
